It generates well over 1,000 lumens – the same amount of light as the XM-L2 emitter in the Meneer and most premium LED flashlights – but the smaller size of the XP-L HI means it can be focused into a beam which is 50% more intense – up from 67,000 to more than 100,000 candela!

Like all 7G-series lights, the Wedge Tail offers a full suite of features including infinitely variable brightness with programmable memories, strobe and SOS signalling, tail-standing ability, removable reflector (to give a perfectly even floodlight) and it's IPX-8 waterproof, impact resistant and comes with an 18-month warranty, fully supported by NZ Hunting Products.

The Wedge Tail is weapons-compliant, fitting into a standard one-inch scope mount, and I stock a remote pressure switch for use on a rifle and a collimator for even longer throw.

I also keep an open-bottomed holster to carry the Hunter on your belt or webbing.

The torch comes standard with a lanyard and spare o-rings to maintain the IPX-8 waterproofing.
